About Us

Thank you for your interest in placing your child at Smart Start and would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child.

During their stay, you may rest assured that your child will receive only the best attention at all times. Whilst the emotional security and happiness of the child are our highest priorities, much attention is given to their intellectual and social dvelopment, in an interesting and timulating environment of learning through play.

Watching children develop into individual and independant people is the most rewarding experience for parents and teachers.

 

What we offer:

1) High caregiver ratio:   4.1 child/caregiver ratio for babies

                                               5.1 child/caregiver ratio for toddlers

                                               8.1 child/caregiver ratio for 2 year olds

                                               8.2 child/caregiver ratio for 3 year olds

                                               10.1 child/caregiver ratio for 4/5 year olds 

2)    Small classes, to ensure that each child's needs and developmental milestones are met and monitored.

3)    We supply nutritious meals and snacks

4)    We supply freshly cooked vegetables daily for the babies

5)    A loving, nurturing environment

6)    Spotlessy clean envronment with a strict hygiene policy

7)    Open throughout the year closing only public holidays and two weeks over Christmas/New year

9)    Times:      7.15am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday

10)  Age:          3 months - grade 00 (4 turning 5)

11)  Cost:         Full Day R3410.00 per month

12)  The principal / owner is active and always present.

13)  We apply the NELDS ( National Early Learning and Development Standards) system.

        NELDS is based on the understanding that there is rapid development in children from birth to 4 years

        and that with a solid foundation they can grow into active and responssible citizens who are well

        prepared to make the most of all opportunities and experiences.

        The desired results for learners using NELDS include:

        a)    becoming more aware of themselves as individuals, developing a positive self- image and learning how to  

               manage their own behaviour.

        b)    a growing awareness of diversity and the need to respect and care for others.

        c)    to demonstrate physical and motor abailities and an understanding of a healthy lifestyle.

        d)    able to think critically, solve problems and form concepts.

        e)    to communicate effectively and use language confidently.

         f)     learning mathematical concepts
